Defenders of the Earth (1986)

Episode Overview

Rick and L.J. join Kshin's class, which includes Marty, a boy in a wheelchair, on a field trip to the Amazon. They soon find themselves in danger when hostile natives appear. When Kshin and Marty get separated from their classmates, L.J. and Rick set off to find them, leading the teacher to call for the Defenders' help. Kshin encounters a peculiar plant that leaves him paralyzed. Initially feeling defeated, he finds hope in Marty’s reminder that they still have their intellect. Captured by Ming, Marty cleverly uses his remote to activate his air-wheelchair and escape. Meanwhile, the Phantom tracks down Rick and L.J. Just as Ming is about to catch Kshin and Marty, the Defenders arrive just in time to thwart his evil plans. Kshin's paralysis fades, and Marty is honored as a new Defender.
