Defenders of the Earth (1986)

Episode Overview

Flash gets an urgent call for help from Prince Barin, who needs him on Mongo to confront Ming's wicked son, Kro-Tan. Meanwhile, the Defenders discover Ming's sinister scheme—Kro-Tan has enslaved Mongo's inhabitants to extract Oceanite, which Ming uses to create a barrier around Earth, blocking sunlight and plunging the planet into a perpetual winter. When L.J.'s reckless attempt to fight off attacking robo-ships fails, the remaining Defenders launch a counteroffensive against Ice Station Earth without Flash. As Flash and Barin incite a rebellion on Mongo, L.J. suffers a severe injury at Ming's base, leading to the heroes' capture. On Mongo, Flash and Barin manage to dismantle the transporter-computer, shattering the Oceanite barrier and sending it crashing toward Kro-Tan's home planet, while the other Defenders escape Ming's prison to rush back to Monitor for urgent medical assistance for L.J.
