Taxi (1978)

Episode Overview

When Jim's house is flattened by a wrecking ball, he moves in with Louie, who isn't thrilled when Jim starts calling him his "best buddy." Things take a turn for the worse when Jim accidentally sets Louie's apartment on fire while cooking. Although Louie is initially furious, he quickly realizes he can profit from the situation when he finds out that Jim's wealthy father will cover the damages with a blank check. Unsure how much to request, Louie finally decides on around $30,000, which Jim's dad approves. Louie's excitement fades when he discovers that Jim's dad was expecting a claim closer to $200,000.
