Clare Bernal, a beauty consultant at Harvey Nichols, found herself the target of relentless harassment from security guard Michael Pech after just three dates. His obsessive behavior escalated to the point where Clare had to alert the authorities, reporting his daily barrage of texts and threats. Following his arrest, Pech was released on bail while awaiting sentencing for his stalking. Tragically, on September 15, 2005, he entered Harvey Nichols and fatally shot the 22-year-old Clare in the back of the head, followed by three shots to her face, before taking his own life.
