Episode Overview

In the final days of 1933, Yugoslavia faces a deepening political crisis following the botched assassination of King Alexander in Zagreb. As domestic and international power struggles unfold, the nation's very existence hangs in the balance. Meanwhile, Belgrade is rattled by an alarming incident: a brutal murder at the medieval fortress of Žrnov on Avala, the future site of a monument honoring the unknown hero Ivan Meštrović. Inspector Pletikosić, head of the Belgrade Department for Blood and Sexual Crimes, leads the investigation, aided by his eager young assistant, Zečević.
