Episode Overview

In 1941, Erwin Rommel and his forces are determined to conquer Egypt, seize control of the Suez Canal, and cut off Britain's crucial supply routes from India and the Middle East. The Allies' final defense rests on a fleet of small British U-class submarines based on the island of Malta. Amidst challenging weather conditions and a malfunctioning gyrocompass, HMS Upholder, led by Lieutenant-Commander Malcolm Wanklyn, fights valiantly to maintain their position against the Axis powers and shift the momentum of the North African Campaign.
