Della Rovere arrives in France, negotiating with the king to launch an assault on Italy, promising him the Papal seat in return for Naples. In response, Rodrigo seeks to counter the invasion by orchestrating a marriage between his youngest son, Joffre, and Princess Sancia of Naples (guest star Emmannuelle Chriqui). However, Juan threatens to derail the entire scheme by pursuing a romantic relationship with his future sister-in-law, complicating Rodrigo's plans.
