Title: The Mystery of the Fatal Plaything Plot: Martin Selkirk, a notorious scoundrel, is infatuated with Claire Allison, despite her relationship with Dirk Benedict. In a brutal move, Selkirk fractures Dirk's jaw and starts bombarding Claire with menacing letters. Soon after, Selkirk is found dead in his seaside residence, leading to Claire's arrest for the murder. Perry Mason steps in to defend her and discovers clues that seem to implicate Selkirk's young son. But is the evidence as straightforward as it appears?
