Darkseid launches an invasion of Earth, aided by Steppenwolf. Superman, alongside the determined citizens of Metropolis and reinforcements from New Genesis, steps up to confront the threat. Although they manage to thwart Darkseid's advance, the battle comes at a significant cost.
