The EVA pilots are disheartened when they learn their long-awaited excursion to Okinawa is canceled, as they must remain in Tokyo-3 on standby for any potential Angel assaults. At the same time, a new Angel is detected, trapped in a chrysalis form within the molten depths of Mount Asama's volcano.
