Bahama Blue (2016)
S01E03 The Sand Flats
Episode Overview
Beyond the stunning white shores of the Bahamas, the sandy flats are inhabited by formidable iguanas, stealthy stingrays, and graceful bottlenose dolphins. Interestingly, the sand here is largely created by a local resident. Parrotfish munching on coral generate an impressive tonne of sand each year per fish. The abundance of sand has driven some animals to adapt by blending seamlessly into their surroundings for protection. Meanwhile, stingrays employ remarkable electro-sensitivity to detect their prey concealed beneath the sandy surface.
