Episode Overview

Cal's mother pays a visit and initially shows a fondness for Fred, but her attitude shifts once he steps out. It becomes clear that she harbors racist views and disapproves of her son sharing a home with a black man. As a result, she opts not to spend the night at Fred's place. Cal attempts to convey this to Fred, who urges her to reconsider. When all seems lost, Fred shares a painful story from his childhood, but it fails to resonate with her. Ultimately, she puts Cal in a position to choose sides, leading him to make a significant decision.
