Judy's concerns about Lauren associating with the wrong people are validated when Lauren is apprehended for shoplifting. Despite Judy’s skepticism about Lauren's insistence that she didn’t do it, Bill persuades her to trust their daughter’s side of the story. However, when it appears that Lauren has stolen once more, Bill and Judy find their parenting skills truly tested.
