Hannah's mother, played by Jayne Brook, unexpectedly arrives in Everwood with the heartbreaking news that Hannah's father has died. Meanwhile, Ephram struggles to keep his feelings for Amy hidden as he witnesses her relationship with Reid, portrayed by Justin Baldoni, deepen. Andy is faced with a challenging case involving a patient, played by Keith David, who desperately needs a kidney transplant but is unwilling to accept one from his own daughter, portrayed by Gina Ravera. In the midst of all this, Bright feels uncertain about how to support Hannah during her painful time of loss.
