Episode Overview
A new nurse named Penny steps in for Kate, which unsettles Maggie since they both hail from Windoona, and Penny might spill some secrets about her past. To escape the tension, Maggie moves in with Sam and Emma, confiding in Emma that she had a son at a young age. The father abandoned them, so she raised her son David as her brother. When David turned 21, she revealed the truth, causing him to leave. Meanwhile, at a local cattle sale, DJ reconnects with Jean, a friend he’s only spoken to on the radio. Jean has a quirky dynamic with her stationhand, Russ; she wishes to have a baby, while he wants marriage. They agree to wed if she becomes pregnant. However, Russ discovers he can’t have children and assumes Jean won't marry him, prompting him to leave. DJ and Jean work together to find him and persuade him to return to her.
