Episode Overview

A friend of Emma’s unexpectedly gives birth in her car and leaves the newborn at Emma's front door, hoping she'll care for the child. Unbeknownst to her, Emma is staying overnight in town. Meanwhile, the girl collapses and is admitted to the hospital, where David serves as her doctor. He realizes she has just had a baby and presses her to reveal its location, but she refuses to speak. The baby is left outside in the cold throughout the night. When the girl's boyfriend arrives, the girl finally discloses where she left the baby, leading Emma and the boyfriend to find the infant.
