Episode Overview

A young fisherman sets out to sea and unexpectedly catches a mermaid in his net. Moved by her pleas for freedom, he releases her, and in gratitude, she offers to fulfill his wishes. After she repairs his net, he excitedly shares the story with his wife. She urges him to ask the mermaid for a new apron, which leads to increasingly extravagant wishes until she finds herself living like a queen. Drunk on power, she commands him to wish for her to become a goddess. When he meets the mermaid again, she inquires about his own desires, and he simply wishes for his wife's happiness. With his final wish granted, he returns to their humble home, content and fulfilled.
