Nikki finds it difficult to adjust to life at home and reaches out to fellow pathologist Sally Vaughan for guidance, but discovers Sally is missing. National Crime Agency investigator Guy Bernhardt enlists Nikki's help, asking her to work with pathologist David Cannon, who is the prime suspect in Sally's vanishing. Meanwhile, Jack, Clarissa, and Thomas express their worries about Nikki’s state of mind. A body discovered in a reservoir connects to a murder case from 16 years ago. This marks the return of the crime drama featuring Emilia Fox, Julian Rhind-Tutt, and Alex Macqueen.
