Tensions arise between Whitley and Dwayne when she insults him in front of Byron. Meanwhile, Mr. Gaines faces losing the Pit due to a corporate bid. In a show of support, Byron rallies for Mr. Gaines during his campaign, prompting the corporation to sponsor the lease, allowing him to continue operating. Whitley and Byron share a romantic moment with a kiss.
