Confronted with her initial national crisis—the tragic loss of nine DEA agents in Latin America—Mackenzie demonstrates resilience and determination as she navigates the challenges posed by a corrupt leader. At the same time, Nathan Templeton is confronted by an ambitious congressman who once served alongside Mac's Vice Presidential pick, Warren Keaton. This congressman is keen to share potentially damaging information to sabotage Keaton's nomination. Meanwhile, Mac's teenage twins embark on their journey back to public school, now accompanied by a Secret Service detail and a flurry of media attention.
