After Mike discovers that he accidentally overshadowed Vanessa's big news about her nomination as the top volunteer parent at school, he tries to rectify the situation, but his attempts may only complicate things further. At the same time, Eve is anxiety-ridden about her chances of fitting in at high school, while Ed is excited about creating an Outdoor Man action figure modeled after Mike.
