Gilbert Swanson takes over his late father's frozen turkey business and teams up with a food scientist to create a groundbreaking meal that can be conveniently heated at home—thus, the TV Dinner is born. Meanwhile, competitor Vernon Stouffer attempts to launch his own line of frozen meals but finds himself overshadowed by the success of the TV Dinner. However, Vernon soon discovers a game-changing invention: the microwave, which could revolutionize how frozen meals are prepared and consumed.
