The three friends arrive at a village perched on a cliff, seeking out Immortal Olak, who holds the secrets of wind and flight. Olak is ready to impart this wisdom to Quentin through a ritual called the "quickening of knowledge." However, for that to happen, Quentin must first rescue the chieftain's son from the clutches of Arak.
