The farmer, Simon Meaden, invited Time Team to explore the area further. John's geophysical survey indicated significant activity beneath the surface. Before long, various artifacts began to surface, and Tony was thrilled to excavate a small beaker. Archaeologist Mike Parker Pearson outlined a timeline of burial practices from prehistoric to historic times. Meanwhile, Phil's trench faced an unexpected interruption from a flock of chickens. As they continued, a rich history of human activity emerged, revealing a sophisticated Roman villa complete with a bath-house.
