Episode Overview

At the invitation of the cave's owner, the Marquess of Bath, a team investigates the site for signs of Palaeolithic human habitation, potentially one of England's earliest dwellings. Their goal is to have the location officially recognized to safeguard it from unauthorized harm. However, they soon realize that extensive preparation is necessary. They are accompanied by palaeontologist Andy Currant and cave archaeologists Larry Barham and Kate Robson Brown. Caver Malcolm Cotter guides them to a hidden trove of bones, but they encounter a blockage caused by sediment from a recent flood.
