Episode Overview

During an event at the German Consulate, President Grant is approached by Baron Hinterestoisser, who invites him to a special gathering, hinting at something intriguing for the president to witness. Wary of the situation, agent James West investigates the box the Baron mentioned and discovers a kinetoscope showing a fabricated scene of Grant signing a covert deal with corrupt foreign officials. If this film is screened for world leaders, it could ruin Grant's reputation and damage international relations. However, if the film isn’t swapped out, the Baron threatens to accuse the U.S. of a serious crime on consulate grounds. Agent Artemus Gordon devises a plan to create a modified duplicate of the kinetoscope and return it before anyone notices it’s gone. Just as they finish, President Grant arrives, and the Baron claims to possess evidence of the president's ties to the dishonest foreign officials.
