Maddie and Charlotte find themselves at a stuffy party hosted by Rebecca’s affluent family, where they are appalled by the way Rebecca is treated concerning her recovery. Wes is taken aback when his ex, Harper, reappears and announces she’s now sober, only to shock him further with a revelation about his brother. Meanwhile, Cynthia must confront her feelings about her fiancé in light of recent developments. Flashbacks reveal the moment Charlotte recognized her daughter’s struggles with alcohol and made the tough decision to confide in Cynthia.
