Susan and Tom feel envious when Abby seems to be bonding too closely with Susan's new boyfriend at dinner. The chemistry between Abby and her date raises their suspicions. Meanwhile, Nicholas takes on the role of water monitor during a drought at home but is let go for being overly strict. In another twist, Tommy finds himself in trouble at school but mistakenly thinks he's in the clear when the principal reaches out to David instead of Tom.
