Nicholas persuades Tom to take on the role of coach for his little league football team. Meanwhile, the Bradford kids, fed up with their lack of privacy, decide to install a separate phone line. However, when Tom steps down from coaching due to overbearing parents, he ironically turns into one of those pushy parents himself after Abby steps in as the new coach.
