Tommy feels frustrated when he realizes that Jill's view of commitment doesn’t align with his own. He also misreads the signals from Kerry, Mary’s friend, which leads him into a tricky situation. In an attempt to express his feelings, Tommy gifts Jill a class ring. Meanwhile, Abby and the other girls organize a surprise baby shower for Susan. Nicholas tries to mediate for Marvin but unexpectedly ends up forming a connection with the girl himself.
