Episode Overview

Jack is on the verge of madness from sleep deprivation as he grapples with the traumatic memories that led him to Australia and the island. Simultaneously, Boone finds himself in a dangerous riptide while trying to rescue a woman who has ventured too far into the water. Claire, who is pregnant, becomes increasingly ill due to dehydration, and it appears a thief has made off with their last supplies of water. Guest-starring Veronica Hamel, Jack's mother, Margo, makes an appearance. In a flashback to when he was 12, Jack recalls a playground incident where a bully physically overpowers him, leading to a valuable lesson shared by his father.
