Episode Overview
The episode opens with Æon awakening on a stone slab, jolted from a nightmare in which she was screaming. We then flash back to Æon and Trevor as they each approach a Breen research facility investigating an ancient virus linked to madness, which was pivotal in early human history until immunity developed. Cornered by Breen soldiers at the base, Æon is unexpectedly pulled underground, where she discovers that despite being established for less than a month, the facility appears to have been abandoned for centuries. There, she encounters a young boy who leads her through the ruins and reveals the only intact vial of the virus among five. Meanwhile, a monstrous fanged infant, the first test subject, lurks in the shadows.
