Episode Overview

Jamie Hoskins makes a false allegation of rape against two classmates following a consensual encounter, leading to a tragic incident where she injures nine pedestrians in a suicide attempt. Medical evaluations show she had been prescribed medication for bipolar disorder but had stopped taking it a week prior. Charged with murder, Jamie is released on her own recognizance after agreeing to resume her medication. However, when rock star Derek Lord, known for his controversial views on psychiatry, steps in to lead her defense, she again ceases her treatment. Although Novak empathizes with Jamie, her reliance on Derek's guidance forces Novak to take the case to trial.
