Episode Overview

After losing her grandfather and witnessing her parents’ divorce in the same year, Kristen's life took a dramatic turn. Without anyone to help her understand grief, she spiraled from being a good student and daughter into a world of drugs, rebellion, and risky behavior by eighth grade. At 18, she became pregnant with her daughter, Sadie. Now at 24, Kristen is battling a heroin addiction that began with just one hit. With Sadie living with her father and only visiting Kristen once a week under her mother's supervision, the little girl fears staying over due to her mother’s unstable behavior and her abusive boyfriend. During the filming of Intervention, Kristen lost her job as a prostitute when the crew discovered the documentary. Ultimately, with support from her uncle and daughter, Kristen agrees to treatment and successfully completes the program.
