Episode Overview

Amber, a talented and athletic hockey goalie, had her sights set on joining the Canadian national team. However, at just 15, a severe head injury from a violent collision on the ice ended her aspirations and left her grappling with relentless chronic pain. It took 12 years for a surgeon to uncover that her spinal cord had also been affected by the accident. Although surgery alleviated some issues, Amber became reliant on painkillers. Now at 29, she finds herself battling addiction to cocaine, alcohol, and morphine, prompting her family to worry that an intervention may be her only chance for survival.
