Episode Overview

Title: Chad / Brooke Update Plot: This episode centers on Chad Gerlach, who has been sober for nearly a year and is training for his first competitive cycling event in Italy since completing rehab. He has joined a cycling team made up of fellow recovering addicts, and his relationship with his girlfriend, who is expecting their first child, is highlighted. Through his journey into fatherhood and sobriety, Chad has experienced significant personal growth. Although he doesn't perform well in the race, he understands that it's merely a stepping stone on his path to recovery. The second half of the episode focuses on Brooke, who continues to battle her dependence on prescription drugs. After returning home from treatment, she seemed to be progressing well, but unfortunately, she faces a setback. Eventually, she is switched to a new medication regimen for her rheumatoid arthritis and undergoes knee replacement surgery, which greatly enhances her mobility and reduces her need for addictive painkillers.
