Episode Overview

Title: Phoenix Plot: After being betrayed by his own superiors and left for dead, XIII has turned his back on the secret service, opting for a life of wandering. In search of food and refuge, he arrives in Empire City, where he encounters Betty Barnowsky, a passionate activist fighting against powerful energy corporations. When a police raid threatens them, Betty saves XIII, introducing him to the Veil, an underground group led by Max Vargas. The Veil aims to reveal the true intentions behind the climate research center Hearpe (High Energy Auroral Refraction Protonospheric Emitter), which manipulates climate for profit. Intrigued by Betty and her cause, XIII decides to join their fight.
