Episode Overview

Mr. Bunce from the bank is conducting a review of the hotel and has no intention of renewing Kate's loan. Meanwhile, affluent socialite Clara Watkins arrives at the hotel with her son, Sonny. Bunce agrees to extend the financing only if Mrs. Watkins promotes the hotel to her social circle. Sonny, an incessant nuisance, keeps pursuing Billie Jo, while Clara hopes for a marriage between them. Despite her efforts to win over Mrs. Watkins, Kate must decline the proposal. In a twist, Uncle Joe decides to pursue Clara romantically, leading to an unexpected engagement. Kate hatches a scheme to rescue both Joe and the hotel.
