Billie Jo is in a bind when she needs a girl for her double date with Junior Hocker and his friend Roger Budd, so Kate proposes Bobbie Jo as a candidate. However, Billie Jo doubts that Bobbie Jo will fit in, believing the boys only see her as a shy bookworm rather than someone fun. Bobbie Jo struggles with confidence and admits she’s not yet at ease around boys. After attending the date but returning home early, feeling overshadowed by Billie Jo, Kate steps in to teach her sister how to charm a guy. On her next outing with Roger, Bobbie Jo shines.
