Episode Overview

Life at the Shady Rest continues to thrive in Kate's absence. However, the girls and Uncle Joe receive an unexpected letter from Cousin Mae, who intends to take control of the situation. Mae's interference quickly disrupts the harmony, affecting the hotel's dealings with Drucker's Store, Steve and Betty Jo's renovation plans for the cottage, Bobbie Jo's romance with Jeff, and Billie Jo's aspirations in music. Luckily, Aunt Helen arrives, bringing a sense of stability. Yet, as she becomes entangled in Mae's chaos, Helen devises a clever strategy to show Mae that her stay at the Shady Rest should come to a close.
