Betty Jo has coordinated with Reverend Barton to hold Kathy Jo's christening on Sunday. Janet reminds Betty Jo and Steve that it's traditional to select godparents for the ceremony. With only days left, the couple must decide who will take on this significant role, knowing that their choice may hurt those left out. Uncle Joe, Sam, Bert Smedley, Wendell, and Doc Stuart all vie for the title of godfather. Betty Jo is thrilled when Janet is chosen as the godmother. Tasked with picking a godfather, Janet seeks guidance from the Reverend, who suggests the most fitting candidate.
