Meanwhile, Miss Vetterstrøm returns from Copenhagen under the false impression that Mrs. Fjeldsø is unwell. The sisters manage to mend their relationship over a shared bottle of liqueur. Suddenly, Weyse is summoned to a theater meeting due to an anonymous letter that threatens his professional future. Fie's father moves into the small farmhouse that Morten once occupied, stirring up old emotions for Fie, but her mindset shifts dramatically upon discovering a naked man on the beach.
