Episode Overview

In the summer of 1931 along the North Sea, the local newspapers are filled with stories of financial ruin and global turmoil. Yet, the regular patrons return to a quaint hotel where Fie has taken the helm of management. The maid, Edith, suspects that Fie's aspirations lie elsewhere, prompting her to team up with the enigmatic Miss Vetterstrøm to uncover the truth. Meanwhile, actor Weyse, basking in film success, has misled the media about his holiday in Lake Garda. His plans unravel when he discovers that his rival, Sophus Poulsen, and Weyse's former wife have taken up residence nearby.
