After being apprehended by the FBI, Ethan returns to Phoenix to confront murder charges. Emma tirelessly seeks evidence to aid Ethan’s defense, but her steadfast support for him puts her at odds with Ted and Kristin. Due to his connection with the victim, Alec can’t handle the case personally, so he brings in a top prosecutor from his firm, leading Dan to contact an ex-girlfriend who is now a prominent defense attorney. Meanwhile, inspired by their moments spent together while on the run, Sutton starts to devise her own plans for Ethan.
