A college student plunges from a balcony, and once she arrives at the ER, TC and Paul discover her condition is more complicated than they anticipated. Jordan forms a connection with a terminally ill patient who imparts valuable insights about life. TC's estranged sister-in-law, Annie, reappears, seeking reconciliation. At the same time, Jessica, a pharmaceutical representative with advanced equipment that Scott is eager to acquire for the hospital, finds her ongoing conflict with TC jeopardizing the potential deal.
