While numerous gangs are structured and some are even formalized, few can boast of receiving federal funding like the Vice Lords. This is just a glimpse into the intriguing 50-year saga of this Chicago street gang. The Vice Lords consist of various factions spread across Chicago and the United States. Two men attempted to bring these factions together: one sought unity through community activism and legitimate efforts, while the other resorted to threats, drugs, and violence. Ultimately, both endeavors failed—one became a legendary figure, while the other ended up in a wheelchair.
