After Shawn's mother unexpectedly leaves, taking their trailer home with her, Shawn is forced to stay at Cory’s house while his dad goes in search of her. Coincidentally, this occurs on career day, a time when Cory is grappling with feelings of shame about his father's seemingly dull profession. As the day unfolds, both boys navigate their personal challenges while discovering the importance of support and understanding during tough times.
