Judge Farnham arrives at the hospital facing an inoperable cancer diagnosis and requests to see Floyd the Barber. Meanwhile, Rosenthal struggles to cope with the loss of Bobby Caldwell. Dr. Craig is on the lookout for a date to celebrate the opening of a new skating rink. Dr. Kiem finds herself at the center of a crisis when she saves a young black man who has been shot by a Vietnamese gang member. Griffin forms a friendship with the new chaplain, who is a descendant of Father McCabe, the hospital's founder. Additionally, Novino and Luther engage in a rivalry on the ER simulator, while Ehrlich embarks on a quest to track down his elusive parents.
