The harrowing 2012 gang rape on a Delhi bus brought global attention to the severe issue of sexual violence in India. Despite the Delhi police's commitment to enhance their female officer recruitment and establish a help desk, these efforts fall short as the number of rapes in the city doubled in 2013. Rural areas face even greater challenges, with police often dismissing victims. In response, Sampat Pal has mobilized rural women into the Gulabi Gang, or Pink Gang, to fight against these injustices. Gelareh Kiazand travels to rural India to dive deeper into this revolutionary movement.
