The Flint water crisis shocked the nation as the once-prosperous industrial hub of Flint, Michigan, faced a dire situation where residents could no longer trust their tap water. It became even more alarming to discover that both city and state officials were aware of the water contamination yet chose to remain silent and take no action. VICE investigates the harsh reality of life in a city betrayed by its own leadership. In Libya, the death of dictator Muammar Gaddafi in 2011 sparked hope for democratic change in the Muslim world. However, the situation took a grim turn in 2012 when a brutal attack in Benghazi claimed the lives of the American ambassador and three others. Today, Libya is fractured, with rival factions battling for control, allowing ISIS and other extremist groups to gain ground.
